One of the most extraordinary museums in Europe, the Vasa Museum is home to the royal flagship Vasa. Built to fight the kingdom of Poland, Vasa sank in 1628 on its maiden voyage in Stockholm harbor. 333 years later it was successfully raised, preserved and restored by Swedish divers and scientists. The Vasa Museum displays the world’s only intact 17th century warship in Scandinavia’s most visited museum. Fred Hocker, Director of Research at The Vasa Museum and author of "Vasa: A Swedish Warship" will provide segments of the virtual tour. There will be an opportunity for Q&A during the program. This event is presented in partnership and co-hosted with the Kalmar Nyckel Foundation.
