This year’s conference topic is Bridging Many Worlds: Exploring Concepts of Changing Cultural Identities in the New Sweden Colony. The colonial Mid-Atlantic region was a mixture of Lenape, Susquehannock, Swedish, Finnish, English, and Dutch peoples. This theme invokes exploration of physical and sociopolitical environmental impacts on cultural practices. How did experiences of migration affect traditional customs and concepts of identity during this period, 1638- 1776?
