Earth Week Plogging

Join us to celebrate Earth Day with Plogging in FDR Park! We are excited to partner with the FDR Park to help keep our natural space beautiful. Plogging is a Swedish craze in which you pick up trash while exercising. This event is free.

Meet by ASHM gate at 10 am. Bring gloves if you have them, trash pickers and bags will be provided. This event is rain or shine.

Virtual Members Discussion: The Swedish Easter Witch Tradition

All ASHM members are invited to this exclusive discussion. Museum members have the opportunity to socialize, learn about the organization, and get a behind-the-scenes peek of our collection and exhibits. This month members will get a virtual guided tour of our exhibit, Flying to Blåkulla: Letters from an Easter Witch. This members-only program is free and held over Zoom.

World Affairs Council Diplochat: U.S -Sweden Relations

ASHM is proud to partner with the World Affairs Council to present this hybrid event of a conversation on U.S- Sweden relations. Camilla Mellander, the Consul General of Sweden in New York, will give her insights into business and trade between the US and Sweden and the importance of cultural promotion between nations for the Northeast US corridor. With time for audience Q&A, the audience will have to opportunity to dive deeper into these topics and others. The Council’s Diplochat series is presented by the Satell Family Foundation.

Spring Ting Online Auction

Support ASHM through our annual online auction. Bidding will be open from April 15th at noon through April 29th at 8 pm. Our auction has a variety of items from local experiences, gift cards, as well as Scandinavian books, art, glassworks, and craft items. Don't miss out on these great items and your chance to support ASHM.

 

Easter Family Day

Introduce your little ones to Swedish Easter traditions and visit our exhibition Flying to Blåkulla: Letters from an Easter Witch. Children can make Swedish Easter crafts, dress up as Swedish Easter witches, and take part in an egg hunt. Free for members and children 2 years and under, $10 per non-member. Pay at the door.

Toddler Time: Whatever the Weather

Whatever the weather is in Sweden or Philadelphia, kids worldwide experience the forces of nature. Join us this month to learn how the weather differs across the globe and read “What’s the Weather?” from Scholastic. Families will tour the Museum looking for different types of weather in art and objects. Toddler Time is free for ASHM members and $5 per non-member child, accompany adult is free.

Toddler Time: Easter Traditions

Join us this month to explore our exhibition Flying to Blåkulla: Letters from an Easter Witch. Families will learn about the Swedish tradition of Easter Witches as we read “Lotta’s Easter Surprise” by Astrid Lindgren. Children will enjoy Easter Witch dress-up and create their own Easter Witch letter.
